Herro, for now

I have been meaning to delete this blog. It's become little more than a sparsely updated curio cabinet of objectless musical opinions, pretentious titles, mixed metaphors, oxford commas, and abridged musings.

And yet, here we are.

I'm trying to remember why I started this blog in the first place. I've always rather enjoyed having a blog. Having a place to share my copy-and-paste's. Having a place to store my hope that some weary internet nomad might find within a stead to rest his tired journey. A place for scribed Koyczan and Agrypnie riffs.

I suppose its soon time to board up this stained window between my life now, and the one I have long left behind, but until that day:

Forever moaping

Has it really only been two days?
Stuck on level 14 and its driving me crazy. Needed a bit of a break.
It seems so simple too. Just not sure what it is (if anything at all) I need to open in notepad.

Anyways, figured I would fire off my (now) 'moap' playlist for the past few days:

Primordial
Sargeist (Shatraug...)
Horna (...and more Shatraug...)
Behexen (...and...)
Mortualia (...more.)
Taake (Notably, "Over Bjoergvin Graater Himmerick")
Dissection (Was never much of a fan but for "Storm of the Light's Bane")

Sounds like an Aginst Me! sort of day to me

Fuck yeah Tom Gabel.
That takes balls!

And for my poor choice of words:

Angelo Badalamenti

Reminds me, I should probably finish watching Twin Peaks.

May the 5th Be With You

Continuing along with my recent adoration for Seattle's hip hop scene, check out Macklemore:

Although both of these songs are from "The Vs EP" with Ryan Lewis, I mean not to discredit his other material. Lend an ear to "The Language of My World" and "The Unplanned Mixtape" LP's as well. Can't seem to bring myself to listen to much else lately.

Walpurgis Night

In light of May Day once again kind of just going to shit all across the New World, I figured I might as well pop on here and do my best to inflate a much under appreciated artists fanpool by 5.

Lowercase Noises:

Delicate, pacific, transcendent, infinite.
To a calmer tomorrow.

Classical Magical

Hello folks,

Fresh from a few days on the coast and all I really feel like doing is listening to gentle piano. So I am. Just figured I might open the door for you to two beautiful modern classical/ambient pianists.

Maya Filipič:

and Stefano Mocini:

Anyway,

Easy listens and take care.

Actually...

Seeing as how its all I have listened to for the last few weeks, check out "The Balancing Act" by Sadistik. I don't quite have the time to speak of it in quite the way I would like to. Simply leave it at beautiful.

Victoria bound

Anywho, off to the island for a few days. Take care.

Hyro is a Hero

While I'm on here reviewing my oversights, I really should mention Hyro Da Hero's 2011 release Birth, School, Work, Death.

Advancing his seamless blend of hip hop and punk/rock sampling with the help of artists from At the Drive-In, The Blood Brothers and Idiot Pilot, Hyro continues to blur the lines drawn between two antonymous genres. I feel like these omitted treasures are (deservedly) receiving some extra love. I guess I could have added a little blurb beside each album on the original list but I feel better letting the music speak to you for itself. Whether you prefer to don your headphones or crank your speakers, slip this forward thinking gem in the tray first.
